Shadow Lake Lodge and Sunshine Mountain Lodge are pleased to offer a luxury ‘hut to hut’ backcountry hiking experience. Begin your adventure by taking the gondola to Sunshine Village, where you can explore the surrounding high alpine meadows and enjoy uninterrupted views of the Rockies. Spend your first night at Banff’s only mountain top hotel, Sunshine Mountain Lodge. The next morning, with packed lunch in your daypack, and your camera ready, embark on the epic 27km hike via Simpson Pass, Healy Pass, Egypt Lake, Whistling Pass and Haiduk Lake to arrive at the historic Shadow Lake Lodge. Spend a night or two relaxing in your private log cabin, enjoying warm hospitality and mountain gourmet meals. Discover even more jaw-dropping views on the final leg of your journey over Gibbon Pass to Twin Lakes, Arnica Lake, and Vista Lake. Transportation can be arranged to collect you from the trailhead back to your vehicle. This experience is available June 23rd through September 9th, 2023 and is based on availability at both properties.
